Sitka Alaska Fishing - Simply put, it is awesome!
Sitka charter fishing for salmon and halibut is world renown. Salmon can run up to 60 lbs. while the average salmon runs 25 lbs. The average halibut catch runs 30 lbs., which is perfect for eating, but several are caught each year over 300 lbs. Red Snapper (yellow eye) and cod are also frequently caught and are delicious eating.
THE CATCH RATE IS EXCELLENT!
Our charter captains are U.S. Coast Guard licensed and professional sea captains who have fished the waters around Sitka for many years. Most are native Sitkans. A typical charter is on the water for 8-10 hours a day with 4-6 people fishing. The charter boats are quite large, comfortable and very sea worthy. Each has complete electronics on board. All bait, tackle and rain gear are provided and your catch will be cleaned and prepared for processing.
Our professional processor will meet your boat at the dock and transport your iced fish to be filleted and vacuum packed to your specifications. This insures you take home a fresh, quality product. Having your fish smoked is another option.
